I called at around 3:45 pm and they said that they would have a service person out the next morning. At 8:47 am this morning I received a call saying a service person was on his way. Chance was my tech and I have to say he not only did a fantastic job getting my air up and running, but spent time explaining to me what he was doing and answering my many questions. “Thanks so much to the entire team that helped with replacing my water heater. Found standing water in the basement on Monday morning and Mitch was able to be there in the afternoon to diagnose the issue and stop future leaking by draining the tank. Above and beyond to find a way to get the tank draining for me. The next day John G. & Lavian M. were able to replace the hot water heater. The first one had a dent and they called to find a comparable replacement and get it in that same afternoon. So happy to have a dry basement and hot water again. Everyone was very professional and had excellent customer service.”

“Chance and Avery came to do a yearly maintenance visit on my furnace, and they showed me some potentially dangerous metal wear in my heat exchange. After doing further testing, the carbon monoxide levels near the furnace were above the safe limit indicating a leak, which can be life-threatening. My furnace was already well past its life expectancy, so I decided to get the process going for a new furnace. Chance called his supervisor, Jon H., who came over the same day. Jon walked me through everything that was needed for a new system, got me set up for financing, and set up installation of a temporary replacement furnace until my new unit was ready so I would have heat without the risk of carbon monoxide poisoning. The temp unit was installed just over an hour later. This all happened on a Friday afternoon in the snow, and it was awesome that all of this got done so quickly to make sure I was safe and warm! I have been using Harriman for years, and I have always been really happy with how great the technicians are, both for their friendly attitude, and their great service. I was happy to buy my new equipment through them! I even decided to replace my AC at the same time, since I knew that unit was on it's last legs. So, here is a big THANK YOU to Jon, Chance, and Avery, for all of their help, along with Jesse and Jeff for coming over late on Friday to install my temp unit. You guys are fantastic!!”

“Chance came out the day before Christmas eve, as my older Trane furnace had stopped turning on the gas for heat. I had found a "manual reset flame rollout switch" in the schematic and reset it prior to his arrival and the furnace fired up (thank goodness, the temp outside was 8 degrees!). Chance was kind enough to go through the checkout and make sure all systems were functioning properly. He was very courteous and efficient. Harriman looks to have very good techs and was very prompt in getting our service call in before the higher rates for an after hours call. Thank you.”

“Josh came out as I had a room that was not getting much heat. He checked the ductwork going to the colder room and found it was low airflow.

“We first used Harriman when our previous furnace stopped functioning in cold weather in 2020. All the companies I contacted said they had no one to send for at least 24 to 48 hours. Harriman promised to send a technician within hours and they kept their word. We then used them for maintenance and eventually decided it was time to replace the old furnace. There are not enough words to describe the detailed level of service and installation of our new furnace from the point of purchase with Jon to completion of the installation. Jesse and Jeff were an amazing team of installers. They were very courteous and professional taking time to describe the process and answer all our questions. James was incredible solving a problem with the heat pump that was installed years ago by another company but would not function in the heating mode. James solved the problem and got it working. The office staff were always very friendly and responsive making sure we were kept informed of all schedules. It has truly been a great experience working with everyone at Harriman.”

“Today Mitch was out to clean my furnace which is new as it was installed in Aug 2021. Mitch got right to work and explained everything he would be doing and reviewing. I have worked with a number of HVAC companies Mitch was very comprehensive and made the appointment stress free. FYI I had Harriman out last year when the company that installed the furnace could not help me set the heat correctly. John came out and found my thermostat was never set to high efficiency by the other company after they installed it. The furnace worked well last winter after the setting was changed. I am sorry I did not have Harriman install my new Trane equipment but Happy I have found this company now.”

I had a bird inside my inducer motor. Once the dead bird was cleaned out, everything was fixed! Crazy incident, but Josh indicated it was not unusual. Josh couldn't be more pleasant and courteous! Our home HVAC challenge was huge… replacing 2 A/C units and 2 furnaces with a single A/C and a single furnace… not to mention the duct work challenge of a lifetime! They took the time to help us understand everything and explain any options where we had a choice. In the end we now have a top of the line HVAC setup and couldn't be happier. “Omigosh! Mitch was AH-Maze-Ing!

He was very friendly and handed me his card outside the front door to verify that he was from Harriman.

He thoroughly checked my furnace and changed my filter and then took a look at my other filter (that minimizes dust in my home) and advised me when to change that. He then showed me and helped to clean some of the pipes that were picking up bacteria and showed me what to do to in order to help keep it clean. He also explained some other maintenance features and in my opinion gave me a great refresher course in my furnace since it was installed about a year ago. I then stepped away and let him do his other standard maintenance work on the furnace. As I don’t know all the specifics – he seemed to do a great job.

He then recommended me getting a new water heater (admittedly, mine is pretty old) and told me what to look for as it ages to make an informed decision about when to pull the plug on getting a new one and recommended the maintenance program to show me how to get discounts and speedy service if needed. Seriously – He was excellent. Ever since I signed up with Harriman, I’ve been nothing but pleased. Kudos to you and your team and making such great hires! I am certainly a pleased customer! :-)”

“I want to say that the experience with Harriman Heating has been nothing less than outstanding. Rob and Mike were over on Monday and first let me know the procedures that were to be done. Before they started they laid tarp on the steps and through the basement. Once they got started, they went about their business. They took their time and finished about 5:00. Rob explained to me that they would be back on Wednesday to complete the job. I received a call from Emily on Tuesday asking if I could move the appointment up by one day. I advised here it would be no problem. Rob showed up and went about the business of finishing the job in a very professional manner. He had to make a few adjustments on some material that was not right. While he was doing that he took the time to answer some questions from a neighbor inquiring about possibly doing a job for her. After Rob finished he made sure everything was working and walked me through what was done and explained the filter systems and when they should be changed. He also explained that since the temperature was below 60 that it made need refrigerant later in the summer and if so, to just call the office. All in all Harriman Heating has an outstanding employee in Rob Troy. I will be calling Harriman Heating for any other mechanical or plumbing work that needs to be done.”

After a call Harriman scheduled Mitch to come out the same day. Mitch was courteous and inquisitive. But Mitch did not stop there, he was curious about whether a nearby radon fan could be impacting airflow. “Today I had Technical Hot And Cold come over to get my 2014 Lennox furnace working. It took four days to get an appt. The burners wouldn’t stay lit so I had no heat. The technician did very little other than spend about 20 to 25 minutes in his van talking to somebody, then he came in and told me I needed a new heat exchanger because his carbon monoxide detector indicated that my furnace was producing more than 2000 ppm and it should only be producing 1 ppm! My son talked to him and the tech said he couldn’t tell if the heat exchanger was cracked or not because it was too complicated to see inside it. He said he could tell it was cracked because the flames shot out toward him when he turned the furnace on. He said the burners would all go off because it tripped the sensor that protected the furnace from burning the place down. My son asked if he had checked for blockages in the vents and he said no that you couldn’t get inside them to check. He did not go on the roof and take the cap off the vent pipe. In the text said it would cost over $2000 just for the labor to put in a new heat exchanger. And it would have to be ordered so I would have no heat until the end of next week. Thank goodness my son had me call Harriman!! Damon came out within 2 hours and immediately diagnosed the problem and fixed it for $200!!! He cleaned the outtake pipes with bleach and took the burners out and blew them clean. He even replaced a wire that looked suspicious. Then he showed me his CO meter registering 1 ppm. He offered to talk to my son and was absolutely wonderful and patient thru the whole process. I told him I will always ask for him in the future. What a treasure it is to find an honest company and a truly professional technician!!!!”

“I just purchased my condo and the a/c unit is in the storage room outside of the condo. My ac was not cooling my condo and Mitch came to do a service call. When he arrived he was extremely professional and courteous. The first thing he noticed is that the unit had a switch in the storage room that was in the off position and that was what the problem was. Once it was running he noticed and bought me outside to show me the condenser was turing itself off after a few minutes. He tested some other things and then noticed a sign on the unit door panel that the door must be on for correct meter readings and condencer operation.
